George married Charlene Elizabeth Howey on 30 May 1940 in First Methodist Church, Champaign, Champaign County, IL.⁶ Charlene was born on 27 Nov 1916 in Tuscola, Douglas County, IL,⁷ died on 3 Jul 1960 in Hickory Point Township, Decatur, Macon, IL⁷ at age 43, and was buried on 5 Jul 1960 in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.⁷

6. Miss Howey Engaged to Fred Lescher. Mrs. Emma Howey, Arcola, announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Charlene, to Fred Lescher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lescher, 1005 South First street. The Wedding will take place on May 30 in the First Methodist church, Champaign. Miss Howey was graduated from the Atwood high school with the class of 1935 and from the Burnham City Hospital Nurses' Training school with the class of 1937. Since that time she has been a resident of Champaign-Urbana. Mr. Lescher was graduated from the Champaign high school with the class of 1935 and attended the University of Illinois. He is at present employed by Querry-Kingman, Inc., of Champaign. Lived at 203 South Cedar Champaign prior to marriage. At wedding Mrs. Lynn Bryson was pianist. Her brother Henry Howey sang and Paul (oldest brother, living in Naperville) gave her hand in marriage.

7. Charlene Howey Lescher Death Certificate. Charlene Elizabeth Lescher died 3 July 1960 at home, 110 Greenridge Drive, (Decatur), Hickory Point Township, Macon County, IL. Death was due to strangulation by hanging (suicide). Had lived there for 5 years. Born 27 NOV 1916 (43 years old) in Douglas County, IL. Father was Roy P. Howey and mother was Emma A. Nussear. Buried in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. on 5 July 1960.
